Underwater training is done at Shark's Cove. We swim down about 35 to 40 feet, pick up a rock which weights about 100lbs. Then we carry the rock underwater as far as possible. Some times on the way up I feel and see a black out closeing in. Never do under water training alone!!!

Diving through the caves is an unbeliveable experience. It helps us to stay calm when being held down after a wipe out. It also prepares us for being stuffed into a lava-tube.

Training and conditioning is a very big part of being able to surf huge waves. You need to be completely confident in your physical and mental abilities before you hit the water.

Our training is a combination of running the beach, biking up hill, lifing weights , swimming, underwater rock running, cave diving, hold your breath pushups, sit ups and triceps . These exercises have enabled me to stay calm during every wipe out I have faced so far. Thank you GOD!!!
